hehe..actually this was my college assignment..my english was kinda bad, but yay I got 3 plus for this one ^^..just wanna share my thought..
Corruption, refers to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary of Current English means corrupting or being corrupt (corrupt means make or become corrupt, for example to corrupt the electorate, the candidate try to win their votes by bribing them); decay, for example officials who are proof against corruption, who cannot be bribed. We can see from examples above that the keyword of corruption is bribe, which means give someone money to smooth their way. Well, I think our lovely country just can’t get off from corruption yet, even though for 10 years from now. From a little thing which is not make any loss in financial like a motorcycle’s driver who use sidewalk for their way, till a more more than that little thing which can make a loss for our government in billion rupiahs.
Yeah, that’s not confusing us why this can happen, because corruption has lived through the blood of Indonesian people, till we can say that the corruption is a kind of system in living in this country. We just have to fit into the system, so that we can’t do anything if we face this problem. I have an experience for this one. I have an uncle who wanted to make a license for driving a motor. 20 years ago, he had a license for that, but he missed that just a month ago. So that he have to make a new one. He is a kind of person who doesn’t want to bribe any person to smooth his way, so he use a formal way to get that license which cost is Rp. 100.000. In order to get that, he has to pass the writing test and the driving test. First test is writing test, if you have pass that test then you will get the second one. So he did that test. But at first writing test he failed. He tried the second time, but he failed to, till he tried it three times he just failed at writing test. So for that third test my uncle has paid Rp. 300.000 which is same with the cost when you bribe the police to smooth your way to get that license. My uncle and my family were very confused why he couldn’t pass that test, which the test is just the same test with the test when he got the license 20 years ago. My uncle said that he was doing the test as well as when he did 20 years ago, but why he failed that three times now. I think this is just my own perception that we have to bribe the police to get that license, because that kind of bribe has become a system in making the driver license. If you want to get it, just double or triple your money, so you can get it just now!!!
Last week Jaka asked Mr. Eko what should we do when we face this problem. And Mr. Eko said that we have to use a formal way in making every kind of license, because if we bribe we just support that system. Just follow the regular task and then get that license. But if we face a problem just like my uncle’s what will we do?? Should we pay Rp. 300.000 (three times test) and the consequences are we loss our day three times, we loss our energy three times and at the end we still can’t get our license. Or we just pay Rp. 300.000 (bribe the police, no test) and the consequences are we save our day, we save our energy and at the end we can get our license. I think every people will choose the second one. We can’t blame those people, because that kind of bribe has become a system in making driver license.
The world can satisfy all human NEEDS, but the world cannot satisfy one man’s GREED. This is what Mahatma Gandhi said in 1946, I totally agree with this quote. Actually if our government has a commitment to serve the community better than their greed to satisfy their ownselves, our country will be in a better better condition from now on. So, corruption..kick them all out from our lovely country!! KPK do your best, just always try hard to kill all that things from our nation!!Fighting!!
